Alchemilla mollis 'Triller', commonly known as lady's mantle, it is a useful clumping perennial. It has scalloped, bright green leaves which catch droplets of water that look like twinkling jewels. From June to September, it produces a frothy haze of tiny, lime green flowers that are honey scented which attracts pollinating insects to their nectar rich, flowers. Alchemilla are great for planting under shrubs as a weed-suppressing groundcover or edging paths, it tolerates a range of adverse conditions including heavy clay and, once established, is drought tolerant. Excellent filler in cut flowers. Alchemilla's name is derived from the word alchemy, because of the many medicinal uses, one of which is as an astringent. In the middle ages, the water droplets were collected from its leaves after a morning dew, and these droplets was said to have healing properties. Very Hardy
